I am using a iPod Nano 5th generation and it wont sync audiobooks. I have restored my iPod twice and still the problems remain. Podcasts and everythign else syncs but audiobooks. Does anyone have any ideas? The audiobooks were downloaded from the apple store so not sure as to why they no longer will sync. They play just fine on my Mac.

I am having the same problem. I don't have a solution but I have a work around that worked for me. I was able to sync my audiobook by reclassifying it as music. I don't know if it is possible to do that with audiobooks downloaded from the apple store. My audiobook was downloaded from CD.
Make sure your audiobooks are configured to sync to your iPod from under its Books configuration tab in iTunes. To access this tab, plug your iPod in and click on it when it appears under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the iPod's Summary tab. Locate the Books tab and select it. Here you can configure how and what audiobooks sync to your device.

I resolved the problem by manually managining podcasts as there is a bug in the latest iTunes.
I had this same problem after updating the lastest software. I fixed it by connecting ipod to itunes, click your device under devices on the left side of screen. Then click the books tab. It will say sync books with a box beside it check it for ebooks, scroll down you will see sync audiobooks check it then sync and your books should start working properly again. hope this helps
