Is there a way to subscribe to a podcast without iTunes? I have not found a way. iOS 5.1 is so close to not having me to sync to iTunes and this is one thing that is keeping me from cutting the sync cord. Any ideas?

Assuming you mean iTunes on your Mac or PC, yes. Use the iTunes app on the iPad.
I see the podcasts in iTunes on my iPad but there is no way that I can find to subscribe to one so that I get automatic downloads when a new podcast is available. Am I missing something?

You might be correct about that. Not something I can check at the moment due to restrictions on my current network connection, but I'll have look when I can. Maybe someone else can chime.

Actually you can download an app that will download directly on the device.
Instacast and icatcher are 2 of them I have used.
Also, iTunes has settings for podcast where you can set up when it checks for new podcast and how many it keeps.
Thanks. I've been using iTunes for my PC to automatically download the podcasts but I still have to sync it to my iDevices. I'll check out Instacast adn icatcher.
