What is the padlock icon on Safari tabs?
On some websites, such as facebook.com, there is a padlock icon on the tab in Safari? What does that indicate?
Thanks,
Mike

I have no idea what you mean by "if it's been pressed". It has nothing to do with what you have done other than visit the site. It is a characteristic of the site and is just an indicator of the site's security.
i had a "padlock" icon which was next to the full screen button at the top right of the safari window which i pressed accidently trying to toggle full screen. So now i can't download using command alt A and on some sites in the URL has the grey on grey https with a padlock icon, Also there use to be a small google search engine next to the big URL space which is missing...I'm sorry if it's a little hard to understand :/
Duh! I should have though of that.
Thanks,
Mike
It typically mean it is a web page that is secured using SSL. Usually shows up on a site requiring login. Nothing to worry about.
You aren't talking about an iPad, are you? This is the iPad forum. You need to post in the appropriate place.
