My MacBook Pro makes random beeps

I could be a program. It is very difficult to tell what a "beep" noise is, especially without hearing it. You can call AppleCare or visit your local Apple store or AASP.

The "beep" sound over rides normal system sounds.

Take the Mac to an Apple Store or Apple certified repair shop.

Since you just purchased the Mac 3 days ago, the one year limited warranty is in effect.

I have had the same problem and believe the solution is really simple.

Open Skype, and in Preferences look at Notifications. Then uncheck the "Play sounds related to contact availability" - by default, Skype makes a subtle but annoying sound when contacts come online, for example. That explains why it happens at random intervals too.

I am having an issue with my macbook pro as well. It is a Late 2011 Macbook pro and as of this morning it has been making beeping sounds. I have muted my macbook but the noise is still continuing. I attempted to restart it as well and the noise hasn't stopped. It is just a beep every 30 seconds or so, any suggestions on what it might be?

The beep noise always appears when ever it is 0:00, 1:00, 2:00, e.t.c.

Thanks, Farzag. I recently added Skype and these random boop-beep sounds were driving me nuts. Sure enough, it was Skype notifications.
