Question about AU's in Logic...

Hi!

Question about AU's in Logic. I'm using Logic 8 Express with a M-Audio 1814, and a Roland SH-201 midi controller/keyboard on an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard. When I open the AU manager in Logic it lists my Roland SH-201's AU manager as "crashed validation". When I check the box beside it to activate it, Logic freezes (spinning coloured wheel). And although the SH-201 editor opens, it flags that it "cannot read script". The SH-201 plays the EXS24 in Logic fine, and the SH-201 standalone editor/librarian works fine as well. I feel like I'm one click away from getting this to work, any ideas would be most welcome... and thanks in advance!

Thanks!

Joseph

The only thing you can do here is contact Roland and see if there's a newer version of that AU. If it crashed validation and it hangs Logic, well, then it is useless.... so unless there's a newer one, or reinstalling the current one works, you should forget about the SH201 AU manager (I take it that it's also a Librarian-type AU?). "Crashed Validation" is not something that can be user-repaired.

Have you checked that you've got the version that matches your OS version?

Thanks for the reply! I checked the versions and they were right. I had uninstalled / re-installed the SH-201 driver once already, but I thought "what the heck", and I uninstalled / re-installed BOTH the editor-librarian software AND the SH-201 driver. I did it three times, but now it works. Ghost in the machine? Who knows!
