Free word processor for Mac OS 9?

Hi. I just installed an old printer in my iBook, and the printer does work, but for some reason it only prints from Mac OS 9 and not OS X. (I think the printer software predates Mac OS X).

This means, everytime I want to use this printer, I have to go into classic (OS 9) and then print from there. The problem is, I don't have any word processors in OS 9 that I can use (at least I can't find any). I tried using Note Pad and SimpleText but they're not really good as word processors.

So, I was wondering if anyone knows of a free word processor for OS 9? And if so, where can I download it?

Cristobal,

which printer is it ? You may find that there is an OSX printer driver for it, maybe now in an all-in-one download from the manufacturer. My old HP deskjets (bought at the time of OS8.1) still work a dream in OSX 10.3.

My old (System 6) Stylewriter 1200 works in OS9 (using some other Stylewriter driver) , but not managed to get it working in OSX yet - not that I'm going to bother to try any more.

I'm a huge Appleworks fan myself...not free, but pretty inexpensive. If free is what you're looking for though,I recommend the Versiontracker site under the OS 8/9 heading. They've got at least a dozen pages of them-a few updates for commercial product, shareware and about 25% or so freeware.I can go in there looking for a simple say, Image viewer...and hours later,i'm still window shopping...
The Pure Mac site is nice as well, but it isn't quite as complete. They do have OS X stuff as well if you happen to use that OS as well.

And in OSX Classic - a Spotlight plugin has even been written for it.
