About Mac OS X Lion Profile Pictures?

If you've changed it from one of the defaults, it's not a file, per se. It is embedded in the account record.

Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups and click and hold on the picture.

There's really nothing to find. That command posted at the link will extract the image out of the user account record. But, there is no file to find.

Not sure if I understood what you're looking for, but have you tried this:

Go to the Users & Groups Preference Pane in System Preferences and open it. Click on the lock and put in your password. Then click on the current picture and you should see a little drop down window with a bunch of images:

Click on one you like and let go - your picture will change.

I don't know where they're stored, Byron - it is obviously deep in the system somewhere because I asked that question once and never got a definitive answer either. If they're deep in the system, I wouldn't recommend messing around with that - you might mess up more than what you're trying to change.

In Lion, location of the user accounts images is:

Macintosh HD > Library > User Pictures

Can't find it also. It seems that you really cant locate it like what Barney-15Esaid. The Address book is connected your system so what's on your account picture will be used automatically to your Address book. If you want to edit the picture you really need the original one.

Could be the wrong place for this but my user account image is changing spontaneously without any input from me. First couple of times it changed to a completely different picture from the default icons now its the right image or chosen icon but instead of a square frame it's round. Anyone know why this could be happening?

You can locate the image on your User Account/Library/images/iChat Recent Pictures. Thats where I found my account picture after reformating and installing Lion OS.
