What does Microsoft Error Reporting mean when I start my computer?

Microsoft Error Reporting appears in the menu bar at the top of my computer each time I start up. It started around the time I enabled auto recovery. I have reinstalledr all of my microsoft mac software and disabled the auto recovery. How can I fix it?

What kind of microsoft softwares do you have
installed ?
Did you try to reinstall this software ?

I have the Microsoft Mac student and teacher edition. Currently I have Excel, Power Point and Word.

I tried a reinstall and the 'Microsoeft error reporting' message still appears. I am unable to find out just what the error is that the message is reporting.

Error Reporting is simply Windows letting you know that it is having a problem with a program, or a program's compatibility with your hardware. What you can do (as a minor fix) is to disable the System Restore, and do a Windows update. (www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com, and tell it to scan your computer.) Also, you will need to go to your PC manufacturer's support website (i.e. www.gateway.com/support) and download all driver updates and install them. Do you have a/n current, updated antivirus program on your PC? If not, you will need to buy one (Do NOT buy anything from Symantec/Norton... it's a lousy program.) If you need a free antivirus, you can download AVG antivirus (www.free.grisoft.com/doc/1)

As a last resort, ( and a bit extreme) you may have to format and reinstall your hard disk, but from what I see it hasn't gotten that far yet.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately for me all my problems began after upgrading to 10.4.5 and keeping up with the Updates. I wish I had kept it at 10.3.9 where things ran beautifully, I've found that I can live without widgets, if I could only get my powerbook back to its old self. I will try the site below that you provided... hopefully, I will find some answers there.
