Motion 5 - No Font Preview

When I try to change fonts in the Inspector tab of Motion 5 (which I just upgraded to from Motion 4), a blank window pops up with no fonts listed. However, when I wave the cursor over this window, my text changes fonts. So, the fonts are there, but I can't see the list. I have plenty of RAM on my computer, and everything else seems to be working better with 5.

In the meantime, I'm dragging the fonts to my text layer through the Library list of fonts.

Use the Heads Up Display to do this (F7)

That works better, but searching through the list runs INCREDIBLY slow, and you cannot type in a specific font name to find it. I actually found better luck using the "Show Fonts" (Command + T) to search for a certain font.

The HUD (f7) is showing a blank list for me. I think that is what the first poster was saying. Does anybody know why that is?

Command T Show fonts is not any better. You can see the name of the fonts at least but no real preview.

I have no Memory issues and im running Motion 5.0.6. os 10.7.5

Ok so i am revising this because i guess i was impatient. It litteraly took several minutes but the fonts finally are previewing now. I do have alot of fonts so thats why i think. If you are getting a blank list just give it a few minutes then.

Coligreens, I'd start by updating your copy of Motion to see if that helps. The current version is 5.0.7.
