Opening word documents on iPad, Opening word documents on iPad

I just bought the new iPad. The main reason I bought it was to bring to class with me.

I need to be able to open and edit word documents on thenipad. How can I do this? Is there a certain app that I need?

To be able to store and edit word documents you will need an e.g. Apple's Pages app, and from third-parties Documents To Go and QuickOffice HD

As to how you get the word documents onto the iPad will depend upon which app you get - either via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

So I just bought the quick office Pro app. How do I open documents in that app. If for example I'm trying to open a word document in a different app is the only way I can do that by putting it in the cloud which I also don't know how to do. If you understand what I'm trying to ask that would be a great help thank you.

I suggest you read the User's Guide that comes with Quick Office Pro. It is quite good at answering basic questions like this.
