Quadro 2000 (on a PC) compatible with Cinema Display 27"?

Is the nVidia Quadro 2000 (on a PC) compatible with Cinema Display 27" (not Thunderbolt)? Does a Mini Displayport>DisplayPort adapter work both ways?

Thanks in advance!

Cinema Display 27"-OTHER, Windows 7

If the PC uses dual-link DVI and can support 2560 x 1600 resolution, and the 27" display is not the Thunderbolt version, you can use this converter

Mini DisplayPort adapters are one way only; Mini DisplayPort on computer to DVI, HDMI, or VGA on display.

The DVI (and HDMI) data format differs from the DisplayPort format. Mini DisplayPort graphics cards detect when an adpter is connected and change data formats to match the adapter, so the adapter doesn't have to do anything with the data. Older graphics cards cannot generate the data format needed for newer display, so an external converter is needed.

Sorry if I take advantage of your time, but the Quadro 2000 card has a Displayport output. Is the data from this output incompatible with the Mini Displayport? One would think that the Displayport is a standard and the Mini and normal version differ only in size (like USB and miniUSB or HDMI/miniHDMI...)

I hope that the alternative (GTX590) which has a Mini Displayport is compatible with the display....
