Macbook Pro Mid 2009 Getting Lines on the Right Side of the Screen. When the screen is moved the Go and comeback after sometime?

I am getting these parallel lines on the right side of my screen green, red, blue color. When the screen is moved they go away and if there is any movement in the screen, They come back. If the screen is pressed in the left corner hard from the outside, they go away. I don't know what to do? Today have a appointment with Genius Bar. Lets hope what they say. I have personally well maintained the notebook, I think has Apple some quality issues. I am disappointed. This problem is quite common online with other user's also.

Any suggestions how can this be fixed?

Thank you.

The Notebook is Mid 2009 13" Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.26 Ghz, 2 GB Ram.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Last century, I had a black Powerbook 5300. After a couple of years using it, the screen started to do all sorts of weird stuff like you describe. Turned out to be that the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the rest of the computer had worn out and cracked. In those days, the portables were not the ultrathins of today and the lids werent fused together, so a few screws later, the connection was replaced and the problem went away. Nowadays, cracking open the lid to replace a cable can be a Russian-roulette type adventure. That is, IF you can get the cables... Good luck!

I think as Apple is becoming bigger, it quality standards are going down. My Dad used Sharp in Mebius in Japan for years. His Macbook pro is in ver good condition. Also the Apple Genius Bar is of no help. They want $400 to change the Entire screen. I think screen is fine. the cable is faulty. It looks difficult to change. I will try to work on it. Bitter experince with this product.

Thank you for your help. Also could you send a link where I can change it.
