Apr 10, 2012 3:35 AM in response to guitartabmanby solar2015,I'm having this problem with the New iPad too. I don't have this issue with ipad1 & 2. Everytime when the 3G is not working, I have to restart the ipad. This is getting irritating

Apr 10, 2012 3:36 AM in response to Coppertigerby jodyfanning,I think you are looking at a quite different problem. When this problem happens with the new iPad the carrier name and 3G is still visible, there is nothing to "reappear" or refresh, it just doesn't work until rebooted.
About the only thing in the iPad itself that looks odd too me is that the General, About, Cellular Data Number says Unknown.

Apr 10, 2012 5:34 AM in response to guitartabmanby Tommy83,Doing the work of Apple. My two ipad (the first and the replace) have a Serial starting with:
DLXH********
I'm unlucky and are both first lot?
Publish your serial, you find it behind your ipad or Setting-General-Info
Let me now?

Apr 10, 2012 8:43 AM in response to Tommy83by dokie99,Yes. My ipad's serial no starts with dlxh too.
As for those who could make their ipads work with 3g after restarting, I still envy you! Mine can't even get to Edge. I had to place my sim card in my mifi so that my ipad could get the faster hsdpa connection through wifi.
Paid a few hundreds more for the 3g version and I'm still just on wifi. :-(

Apr 10, 2012 9:29 AM in response to guitartabmanby sakattack82,Let me join this lovely company and state that I have the same problem.
My iPad 2 was working flawlessly along with a Vodafone Greece MicroSIM but as soon as I inserted the very same MicroSIM card into my new iPad 3 I started getting the irritating message of no 3G connectivity. Over the last 3 weeks I'm resetting my iPad at least twice on a daily basis. Needless to say that I cannot receive iMessages when I'm not connected to a Wi-Fi network! Hopefully a new software update will fix this problem.
Not a really good start with the long-awaited new iPad...

Apr 10, 2012 9:34 AM in response to dokie99by Torqen,This sounds like a carrier problem to me.
Call your carrier and make them guide you through
this problem.

Apr 10, 2012 9:43 AM in response to Tommy83by rodzs,Serial number of my new iPad also starts with those letters (DLXH...). I'm in the USA using Verizon (4G LTE). And like dokie99, I have the same problem, my 3G/4G doesn't work at all (unless I am in "home" area), no matter how many times I switch the wifi on/off, or restart the d@rn thing, reset the network settings, grrrr, it is fustrating that I'm paying for a 3G/4G service that I can't use. On the other hand the wifi works without a hitch. This is my first iPad and I love it, but this needs to be fix soon, until then I can't recommend this product until they fix it yet; they are better off with the iPad 2 at this moment.

Apr 10, 2012 1:53 PM in response to Mina_guby cdsmm,Having the same issue here, in Canada on Rogers network.
Only thing that fixes the problem is a network reset or reboot.

Apr 11, 2012 2:35 AM in response to cdsmmby moof66,In Melbourne Australia, I bought two iPad v.3 and have Optus 3G sims in each. The internet connection drops out on each of them pretty much every time they are used. In the same room, one will work fine while the other gets no response even with a full signal bar on each with the 3G displayed. I bought one for dad to use cos he is stuck in hospital (with no wifi) for a few weeks and he is extremely unhappy with the iPad internet signal always stalling. Usually rebooting the ipad will fix the problem. Sometimes one app reports no internet while internet is running happily on another app (e.g. safari reports no internet but Google Maps app is downloading fine, or vice versa). Sometimes rebooting just the affected app will fix the problem - sometimes not. I have the iPad v.1 with the same Optus simcard and can say I have never experienced any such problem with it. I spoke to my brother in Sydney about this - he has the iPad3 - and he said same thing happens to him!

Apr 11, 2012 2:43 AM in response to guitartabmanby jmgg0025,I think that it may be a hardware failure because there are ipad that do not have this bug and many if you have the bug.
