Apr 23, 2012 5:40 PM in response to reid007by Smitten Kitten,That is exactly the issue I have been and still am having. I too, am reluctant to rush in for a replacement, as offered.
Hoping patience will eventually pay off.

Apr 24, 2012 5:21 AM in response to guitartabmanby TheRKain,Same here in Austria.
Model: New iPad 64GB 4G
Carrier: bob/A1 3G
Edit: Manual carrier selection seems to solve it. If I encounter the issue again, I'll edit this post again

Apr 24, 2012 10:28 AM in response to guitartabmanby (Dri),SPAIN here, same problem - iPad 3 needs to restart after a few hours, or less if traveling across Madrid.
Tested carriers: JAZZTEL Telecom & spaniard VODAFONE, none of them working properly.
I'm going to try the manual carrier selection solution, let's see if it works so I can post it here.

Apr 24, 2012 12:30 PM in response to guitartabmanby guitartabman,Well, I've been running the diagnostic profile on my iPad as requested by Apple for the last week hoping to catch the problem but (wouldn't you know it) the problem has not reoccurred. Bit of a shame really as it would have been great to present Apple with the info they required to progress this issue. Oh well.

Apr 25, 2012 2:10 AM in response to guitartabmanby stephschad,Same problem here.
T-Mobile Germany using Multi SIM with new iPad 32 GB 4G.
Did not have time to read this all.
Apple what are you doing to solve this!?

Apr 25, 2012 3:50 AM in response to stephschadby moof66,My iPad still not working on 3G. Found the explanation:
Apple has posted a monster profit of $US11.6 billion ($A11.24 billion) for the first three months of 2012.
That's approaching US$1B profit per week! They must be very busy doing the accounts. When things quieten down they'll find time to release a minor software update.

Apr 25, 2012 4:32 AM in response to guitartabmanby TheRKain,I'm 80% confident now that selecting the carrier manually instead of having it auto-searched solves this issue.
About 24 hours without any issues, which is about 20 hours more than usual.

Apr 25, 2012 8:05 AM in response to TheRKainby [Dri,I'm not so lucky.
I did try the manually selected carrier today, here in Spain. It worked... this morning. The afternoon reproduced the problem: no internet connection unless the iPad is restarted.
I'm talking by phone to Apple Care as I write - they're going to change it for a new one, but we all know the fantastic success with that solution.
The phone operator says (and she seems to believe it for real) that it's not a widespread problem and ensuring me that it must be a hardware issue that is going to be solved replacing the device.
We obviously disagree.
Anyway I'm going to replace it.
Let's see what happens next.

Apr 25, 2012 5:51 PM in response to guitartabmanby Tianz_16,so far the only way i been avoiding to reset the ipad is to turn off 3g before connecting up to any wifi .. and to turn off wifi before the 3g service is turn on..
this is working but is fustrating enough as this is ought to be something working seemlessly.
btw, just a check with all those that have gone with a replacement. did you get a replacement new as in new out of a new ipad box casing and all or they are giving you a replacement new that is a re-manufactured set?
