Mar 21, 2012 12:51 PM in response to Princess Tiaby Kappy,Perhaps you could try without using crossover, but you may still have issues due to the different protocols involved. Might be easier to take the drive out of the old computer and putting it into a USB enclosure if that's possible. Not sure if you can find a suitable USB enclosure that supports a SCSI drive.

Mar 21, 2012 12:54 PM in response to Princess Tiaby Niel,Mac OS 9 can't log into a Mac OS X 10.6 or newer AFP server. Start File Sharing on the old Mac and check the box to allow clients to connect through TCP/IP.

Mar 21, 2012 12:55 PM in response to Kappyby Princess Tia,I can look for a suitable enclosure. But what did you mean by "without using crossover"? Just a straight Ethernet cable between them?

Mar 21, 2012 1:06 PM in response to Nielby Princess Tia,Wow, you guys are so quick I can't keep up!
I already have file sharing turned on and yes, I checked the box that allows users to connect through TCP/IP. I also changed the TCP/IP folder to connect via Ethernet, but I wasn't sure how to configure it.
I have it using DHCP server, though I have no idea what server it would be or what the DHCP client ID is. But since I'm clueless about the other three options (BootP, RARP, and manual), that's the one I picked.

Apr 7, 2012 6:51 PM in response to Princess Tiaby vammo,I tried both crossing over (direct ethernet) and file sharing via tcp/ip (from both sides).
Trying to get my 10.7 imac to connect to my 9.2 Beige G3.
Luckily I put in a usb card 6 years ago and can just use a flash drive. Nothing else worked.
Flash drive.
