File transfer from 9.1 to Snow Leopard

I have a PowerMac 8100 (with a CPU upgraded to G3) running OS 9.1. I need to transfer some files from that to my current iMac running Snow Leopard. I have them connected with a crossover Ethernet wire, and have done everything I could to set up the file sharing properly on the old Mac. But they do not "see" one another.

The old Mac has access to floppy disks and zip disks. The iMac doesn't. I thought connecting them with Ethernet would work, but there seems to be far more than meets the eye here.

Can anyone help?

Wow, you guys are so quick I can't keep up! 🙂

I already have file sharing turned on and yes, I checked the box that allows users to connect through TCP/IP. I also changed the TCP/IP folder to connect via Ethernet, but I wasn't sure how to configure it.

I have it using DHCP server, though I have no idea what server it would be or what the DHCP client ID is. But since I'm clueless about the other three options (BootP, RARP, and manual), that's the one I picked.
