Just pull the two ends toward the center with your fingers to return the iPad keyboard to normal and go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Split Keyboard>Off.

You can do it in 3 ways

1. Drag keyboard toward each other

2. Hold the keyboard button down for a second or two to merge

3. Settings>General>Keyboard>Split Keyboard>Off.

Hi Faith Holcombe. You probably did a tap and slide on the keyboard button in the corner.

As already mentioned, you can turn it off in Settings, so it cannot happen again.
