Isn't it maddening that Yahoo and Apple pass the problem back and forth!!!

I am having this problem also. I've been to the Apple store twice. It's odd that my phone and my ipad both receive and send mail, but my macbook doesn't. It's really frustrating...

There is no fix if using sbcglobal.

Makes no sense, it worked perfectly for about a year then all of a sudden I had trouble!?! No trouble getting the mail on iPhone or iPad. It works on the Mac book one day and the next day it doesn't. Really makes no sense!

I went to the Apple store last night and they were able to fix it....but it stopped working this morning. Then it came back, and now I am back to getting the "box" that rejects the password....what is going on? Does anyone know if this can be fixed? I am at a loss...like others, I can get my sbc email on my ipad but not my MAC....so frustrating.

I think I have to agree with AT&T that it is not their issue this time. Why else would the phone and iPad have no trouble? Also no trouble getting sbcglobal mail thru web browser. Apple is quickly losing my recent (1 year) conversion loyalty. Never had this trouble on outlook. I really wish somebody out there could solve this.

The problem is not your Mac, it is with AT&T.

To have your issue resolved you MUST speak to a US representative (not the Philippines). Tell them you need to speak to someone “on shore”. ( AT&T lingo for someone in the United States.)

No - it's an Apple issue. I went to the store and they were able to fix it. I am not well versed on the lingo so I apologize that I can't give a full description of the problem. But if you go to the G -bar and mention sbcglobal or yahoo....the response will be "Yeah, we got an email about that a few days ago." And they'll show you a way around it. Good luck...mine stopped working but I was able to get it working again.

The only solution I have found is to delete your email account through Mail and set it back up again -- it works, but a pain every time this happens...

I have the same exact problem!!!😠 Apple should fix this soon in a new update.
