Q: Canon MG8120 will not 'sleep' after upgrade to Lion (please read)

Hello, all...

I just got a new MacBook Pro yesterday - after a few false starts, I finally got everything transferred via Migration Assistant. However, when I tried to reach my wireless Canon MG8120 printer, I got a notice that some Canon software needed to be downloaded. I downloaded the software and my printer works. However, now it will not "sleep." I don't want it ready for use at all times. What am I missing here - I don't want to leave it "on" all the time.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I also have the MG8120 printer with absolutely no problems at all. I have hooked it up to my Airport Extreme Base Station via UTP. From the AEBS I connect to it via WiFi from several PC's (one iMac, a MacBook Pro, a Windows XP Laptop and even my iPad via Printopia). I have never paid any attention to 'sleep' modus of the printer, but it goes to 'sleep' after a certain amount of time when it is not used.

Maybe there is some configuration on the printer itself to tell it go to sleep at a specified time of inactiveness. I don't know where that setting is stored away, but when you check the manaual that came with it, you must search for Printer Settings (I don't have the printer nor the manual with me at the time, so it might just be some other term they use at Canon).

In short; I use it's default settings, and it goes to 'sleep'.
