Please read the article completely. If you had done so, you would have seen the following:
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
The article is available in other languages if your command of English is insufficient.
You run an app. If you can't use the screen to get an app to run, you'll just have to let the battery drain at whatever rate it can, for however long that takes.

Put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

If that still doesn't work, as a last resort try DFU mode:
All you can do is run a graphic-intensive or network-intensive application. There's no other way to more quickly drain the battery.
Unless you want to disassemble the iPod and physically disconnect the battery for the logic board, you just have to sit tight and wait until the whilte screen fully drains the battery.

Have you tried resetting the iPod, and if that doesn't work restoring it?
