Third party charger...not working.

What a waste of time, hope, whishes, and money. I begged and begged my mom for this cute charger! We waited and waited for it to get shipped! We paid for it! And now my awesome third party charger is giving me an error message "Charging is not supported with this accessory" I am using the iPhone 3GS. The package said it would work an just about any apple device, except the ipad. It was supposed to work on the iPhone 3GS.

How do I get a third-party charger to work

on my iPhone 3GS?

There HAS to be some sort of set up process!
