why does my iphone 4s keep deleting my new contacts

I just got my iphone 4s and I am new to apple products. My iphone resontaly started to delete some of my contacts and keep others. Everyday I readd my contacts and they soon delete again. I dont know if it has something to do with my icloud or itunes or what?
