Serial number doesn't work on new iMac

I've transferred my verisonof Aperture to my new iMac. The software prmotps me for my serial number, but when I enter it, it tells me the 'serial number is not valid'.


Does this mean I have to buy the software again?

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If you cannot get Aperture to accept your registration code that way, try Frank Caggiano's trick:
