iTunes Match resetting play count ?Bug

My play count for songs is constantly being reset to zero with iTunes Match. I have a playlist that contains songs that I have "never played" = play count zero. I have cleared this out 4 or 5 times so all songs have at least 1 play count. The "never played" playlist is now empty. When I shut down my mac and reboot or leave my mac asleep for a prolonged period, and then access iTunes again, all song have reverted to zero play count and back in the "never played" playlist.

Just wondered if anyone else is having the same issue. Is there a work around? Apart from disabling iTunes Match, as I use that on my Apple TV and iPhone.
