Whenever I press the home button twice the iPhone restarts

I have an iPhone 4S with ios 5.1

Whenever I press the home button twice to close some app or something, the phone restarts.

There was this same problem yesterday and then automatically it got normal.

Before that ,once with this issue I did a recallibration ( opening an app and then pressing and holding the lock button until the switch off slide appears and then holding the home button until I am back on the home screen) which solved my problem.

*but it solved my issue just once.

This has happened many times with this phone , even when it was running on iOS 5.0.1.

Now I'm sick and tired of it.

Please help me finding out a solution.

I've been having the same issue since a couple of hours! Didn't do anything weird with my iPhone except installing Instagram on it. Now when i double press the home button it resets itself. I gave it a 'hard reboot' and upon boot i held down the Home button but that only helped once. Can not access the multitaskbar anymore.

iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4Gs

I've found a new way .. I restart the phone manually. And it works. But sometimes , the Problem reappears and sometimes it doesn't . But when it does , its just too annoying. Therefore, restarting the phone manually is a temporary solution. But what's the permanent solution for it? Let's wait and hope that someone comes up with one.

And I hope this restarting hint solves your problem too.

P.S- instagram or any other app won't make a difference. That's what i think .. Cz I don't have that app on my iPhone.
