iMovie 11 adding theme border around imported png logo (picture in picture)

I am attempting to import a png (transparent background) logo into one of my videos. The problem is that iMovie keeps adding a theme border around the picture. Note that I am dragging the picture into the timeline in iMovie and then selecting "picture in picture". I have not been able to find any solution to fix this. My movie uses the Newscast theme which is red and black. The attached photo shows the problem. When a movie has a set theme, is there a way to import a png without iMovie adding this border? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Eric - you may have already solved this. If not, double-click on the Picture in Picture to open the Inspector. In the Inspector panel that opens have you inadvertently clicked on one of the Border Widths near the bottom of the panel? There is also a selection box for Border Color and Drop Shadow.

Eric, I just came across an old (2010) post on a similar topic. The problem was solved by selecting "No Theme" for the project. But in your case changing to no theme may cause you to lose all the theme titles, transitions and so forth from your project. Perhaps the theme borders appearing on png PIPs is a bug in iMovie.
