My gmail was recently having display problems on Safari on my Macbook Pro. I reset Safari, emptied cache, and followed the instructions listed on the forums to delete my plist.
However,... the file: com.apple.Safari.plist is MISSING from my ~/Library/Preferences. I also do not have files ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconfig.plist
Please advise

com.apple.Safari.plist will get recreated as soon (maybe before) you quit Safari normally.
Not sure who, or when ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconfig.plist returns but I am pretty sure it will.
I brought it to the apple store. Turns out lion hides the preferences list.
You have to go into the menu bar into users and hold down the option tab I access it.
However, that still did not solve my initial problem.
The apple people are reinstalling the OS for me. =)

For future reference, yes Lion hides your Library directory and the Preferences directory is within Library. You can make it visible if you wish. Alternatively use the Finder's Go menu, Go Tio Folder..., and type ~/Library to get to the Library directory or ~/Library/Preferences to get to the Preferences directory (~ is a tilda).
