How to know the measure in Joules of the energy levels given by the Energy Instrument for an iOS app?

Hi.

I'm trying to know the energy levels consumed by my iOS app. I read in the developer guide that I could use the Energy Diagnostic Instruments to measure the energy of my application. However, the energy usage level records the relative energy usage of the application on a scale of 0-20. Apple don't specify nothing about what those levels means in terms of Joules.

Somebody knows what those levels means? or How I can interpret those levels in terms of Joules?

I really appreciate any help.

Well, with a fully charged battery, if you monitor the power through the charging cable you should be able to correlate actual power usage to the relative scale.

Thank you for your respond, but I still have a doubt, How do you say I can monitor the power through the charging cable? Is there any utility to measure the power consumption or actual current through the USB?

You can audit battery levels in basic increments and create any kind of derived usage you like on the device, but there is no way to accurately monitor fine-grain consumption without $pecialized te$t equipment.

No, you will need external instrumentation. A voltmeter and currentmeter.

airin20, did you ever determine the meaning of Apple's 0-20 energy usage level? I'm having the same issue and really need to understand the meaning of this 0-20 unit.
