I tried syncing my laptop and my iPad.  Now none of the apps I purchased will open (like facebook, itunesu, ibooks).  I tried turning it off and on again and tried resetting by holding the sleep and home buttos for 10 seconds.  What do I do now?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

There are other things that you can try but the darned thing is brand new.  Call Apple.  800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think Canada.

Download any free app from the App Store. When it's finished downloading, try opening your other apps again. They should work.

I had the same problem. downloading the free App did work. I'm just wondering what's the bigger issue??  How long before I have to do this again?

Downloading another app resets your iTunes authorization. It should only be a one time thing. The exception might be if you ever have to restore from a backup - or if your totally wipe the iPad and start from scratch for whatever reason.

i also have the same problem and fixed it using the steps stated above.

    this is so disappointing!

for such a very expensive gadget, i think it's a big slap on Apple's face for having such a silly issue with the iTunes authorization.

So what will happen if there is no internet connection?

Should the user wait for forever until such time a WiFi is available?

    Fix this ASAP. Please.

You are not talking to Apple here, rather than spamming the forum with the same complaint over and over again, send feedback to Apple. This is not a "register your complaint" forum.

I understand your frustration and you make a valid point, but posting the same thing over and over here will do you absolutely no good at all. None of us can fix it, we are just other users like you.
