Mar 23, 2012 12:33 PM in response to jonnyrohlby Prometheus 7,If you have signed in with your apple ID on that device, you have a few options available. Borrow someone else's iOS device and download the app "Find My iPhone." Sign in using your apple ID, and you will have the option of locking or wiping your iPad, in addition to playing a loud sound or sending a message. If you have a computer availabe, go to icloud.com, sign in, click on the Find My iPhone icon, and follow the same steps as above.
Sadly, if you have not signed in with an apple ID on your iPad, and enabled iCloud while also enabling Find My iPad in the settings, there is nothing you can do except look for it in person.
Hope that helps!

Oct 22, 2014 2:01 AM in response to 19lauryn88by tonefox,It has to be switched on and be online, i.e. connected to the internet. If not, it has no means of communication.

No. How do you think you can communicate with the iPad if it has no internet connection?

Dec 20, 2014 1:35 PM in response to tonefoxby Richard78411,So, in other words, Find My Ipad, is worthless?
-
Dec 20, 2014 3:35 PM in response to Richard78411by imobl,Find my iPad only works if there is an internet connection. It is not worthless
but it does have requirements.
If you have a method for the iPad to communicate when it has no connection
to the internet via wifi or cellular service, you may wish to mention it to Apple at

Dec 20, 2014 5:14 PM in response to imoblby Richard78411,Thanks, I will. Amazon is able to give a GPS location of my Kindle Fire as long as it is awake. It is connected to Wifi whether or not a browser is open as I'm sure the Ipad is also. I can get a GPS location on my android phone even when it's sleeping with the Plan B App. (which can even be installed remotely after the phone is lost or stolen.)
