Can I sell my sprint 4s with out unlocking it?

It's no longer on my plan and I missed the 30 day return. Gf bought me one for my bday which was the day after getting mine. She still doesn't know I had one.

Let her have the moment. But , in doing so I put it up and forgot to return it. The bill reminded me. So I switched phones on my contract because I have no need of two iPhones. Replaced with an android, cause I've been doing android app work.

So I'd like to sell it but do I unlock it first?

I know it's usable on more carriers because I watched the setup. Pcs caught my eye. Sprint actually activates it like any unlocked phone. At least from my experience with unlocking. They turn on wifi to get the carrier, that's when I noticed a few others in the list. Yes interesting .

I know it's good for sprint and pcs prepaid, must be able to use on verizon as well. Just can't AT&T or tmobile it. Though you can unlock a AT&T 4s for tmobile prepaid.

So main question. Do I get it unlocked first by haggling sprint for the program code or let it go as is?

Examples of local thiefs check Milwaukee Craigslist. Have a laugh.

I did promise a review on 4s , sprint tech, said unlocking is bs and you can switch carriers just by having a legite phone that is not stolen. That's from a Sprint tech supervisor. Even said I could use AT&T if I wanted. After al sprint has CDMA and gsm, unlike AT&T which is all gsm.

Cheers

Sprint will use a version phone if the numbers can be set up or found in the system. What ever the heck that means.

It means that the phone has to be loaded into Sprint's system.

I'm aware that Sprint and Verizon both use CDMA. Although it's theoretically possible to use a Sprint phone on Verizon, there is no practicable way to get the information loaded into Verizon's system. You can't walk into a Verizon store with a Sprint phone and get it activated.

The only thing I can say to that is Sprint hires some real idiots.

The Sprint tech supervisor you got that from has absolutely no clue.

The phone is permanently tied to Sprint. It will not function on any other operator. If the SIM slot is unlocked, it can ONLY be used for International roaming, and only if active Sprint service is maintained. You could sell it to anyone who wanted to activate it on Sprint and they would have no problem. Anything else... well, I'm pretty sure someone at the Apple store can activate it as an iPod, but that's pretty much it.
