No. As the Mac runs OS X and the iPad runs IOS the Apps are incompatible.
Hmm, I have about £11 of credit on my account. My purchases so far have been on ipad. Now that I have a Mac Book can I not somehow use that credit to purchase iMovie (same iCloud ID)?
The store does not care which devices you make your purchases for, you are not restricted to only iOS or Mac OS X if that is what you started using. You can feel free to purchase for all devices.
Thank you Ralph for your quick response.
Okay, I think that is all I need to know, just that it was asking for verification, credit card details confirmation or something , I was just concerned it might bill to my credit card bypassing my App Store credit.
It is asking for the bank card as a security precaution, a way of verifying that it is you using the account. You can select the None option in the payment methods details. The system uses a credit before any listed bank card.
What ever you buy on Mac App Store is for Mac and Mac ONLY.
what you buy on iOS app store is for iOS and iOS ONLY.
you won´t mix platforms even because the last company that tried that is reverting the move.
Thank you for that clarification
Thanks Dah veed, that's really what I was wondering.
Well, my credit is apparently still on my iPad so I assume it (Apple) billed my credit card, though I'm yet to confirm that. If so then it would appear ipad and Mac don't share credit even though I only have the one Apple account. Which is not good, I've been penalised twice recently by my bank for being overdrawn (new OD fees) so I spend the extra time (as is usually the case with computers, so time consuming) to try and avoid this... But anyway, sorry to complain to you, not your fault... But beware!
The credit is in the account. It isn't on the iPad or on the Mac. It is an accounting figure on Apple's servers in the account associated with your Apple ID. However, if you live so precariously close to the edge with your bank accout, you should remove the card from the info.
This user, mountaingoatgirl, explains how to get a None option in your account details in the iTunes app on a Mac or PC. -

Thanks again Dah.veed
Yes, what I meant was that the credit was still (and still is, maybe if got a 'freebee', no such thing as free...) showing on my ipad which means, presumably, that I still have credit, wherever it may be stored; unless Apple are a bit slow over Easter.
Excellent advice regarding finance! It was a bit misleading what I said, I allowed my emotions to get the better of me. Whilst I'm by no means loaded I was referring to a particular account that has, in the past, allowed me to be a bit overdrawn without penalising me... That was handy. But because far too many people have not been prudent the whole system is in a shambles and so they've introduced these fees, it's more the principle that bothers me blah, blah..
With that aside my credit was/is from a gift voucher. Maybe I should have mentioned that before.
Kind regards
