Is anybody able to browse to March 2013 on the calendar app...

...on the new iPad (3)? When I try the app crashes.

iPad 3G, iOS 5.1

I think what might have helped is if my answer was read correctly as I did state it had to be an 'all day' event on 1st April which triggers the bug. It helps narrow down the issue when everyone contributes stating whether it affects them. Without this problem solving would be a lot harder and take longer.

In any event my answer is a work around not a solution as it's up to Apple to fix the day light saving bug that causes the problem.

I'm glad clarification was made and that everyone can now shake hands & continue helping each other.

No ill intent meant to anyone.

March 2013 in month view kept crashing for me too. It got stuck in March 2013 month view so severy time I tapped to open the Calendar it kept opening momentarily before closing. I got out of this baffling on/off loop by turning off Calendar in iCloud (in Settings>iCloud) then opening Calendar then turning back on the calendar in iCloud. However, whenever I tried again to open the March 2013 month view, Calendar crashed again. So following earlier advice in this discussion I deleted the single all day event I had entered for 1 April 2013 and then I found I could get a stable month view of March 2013. Curiously, or perhaps not, I don't know enough of the tech stuff, an all day event I have entered ranging from 29 March through to 14 April 2013 doesn't seem to coincide with or precipitate the problem. But for me, deleting that single all day event seemed to be effective in stabilising the month view for March 2013. It's a funny old world...

Can't see how deleting calendar entries is a suitable long term fix! What about recurrent all day calendar entries... It just isn't feasible as a workaround. It's clearly workable for some but that doesnt make it a permanent fix. It's clearly a bug if so many people are finding the same issue. Daylight saving happens twice a year every year... I'm sure a fix must be on the horizon. Surely....

Doesn't happen nay other mac cals I have (osx etc) just on ipad2

I have this issue too, on both my iPad 1 and also my wifes iPad 2. It clearly IS a bug in the system somewhere, as it is happening to too many of us to be a freak occurrence.

I don't want to delete my all day appointments on the 1st April, as I have several, and some of them are re-occurring enties running in a series. It seems pretty stupid, and it must be a simple fix for Apple. My calendar is synced to both ipads and also ours iPhones and also our kids iPhones, 4 phones in total, and the problem is not existent on any of the iphones. It's been a while since we had an ios update, so we must be due one by now in which a fix could be rolled out.

If you ever read these threads APPLE, PLEASE COULD YOU FIX THIS? There must be thousands of your customers affected...

Well put.

This is ridiculous. Deleting genuine appointments IS NOT A FIX. It merely characterises the problem in a way which should help the techies to fix it.

I naively posted MONTHS ago that we should document this issue to show a body of evidence that it's a real problem. Not just a spurious "mystery". Clearly the message is not getting through to Apple. Either that or Apple are ignoring the issue. How foolish was I?

I must admit I am starting get pretty disillusioned with Apple's effectiveness in resolving long standing issues. Don't get me started on Apple TV and iTunes. If anyone can suggest a more effective way of getting a response ... please post

Sorry to report that Apple released the Gold Master version of ios6 (GM 10A403) last night, and I have a friend who is running it. He says that this issue has NOT been addressed in ios6, in any of the previous Beta releases, and now NOT in the GM release either. He told me it is possible that bugs could be fixed between GM and the general release, but it is very unlikely.

POOR SHOW APPLE. VERY POOR SHOW INDEED.

Just found this after asking about the issue in seperate question.

Sorry.

I have deleted the all-day entry that I have added but my subscription calendar has two all day events which I can't delete without deleting the calendar (as far as I can see).

Any ideas?

Please sort this out Apple it is a real annoyance!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apple don't care about this. They clearly are not listening to their customers. There have been software updates since this issue has been raised and despite how simply this could be rectified, they have clearly decided to ignore us, although they are happy to keep taking our money.

March will be passed by soon. Then the problem will be consigned to history. That's how they see it.
