Currently traveling in Ireland. Having trouble re-charging my macbook pro using the electrical convertor and the cord/charger tht comes with the notebook. Any suggestions? the indicator light on the cord/mag connection continues to blink "green" but notebook does not indiacte any charging taking place.

The problem may be with your power adapter rather than Irish electricity. Check the contacts on the power adapter and the MBP. I have found that jiggling the connector or snapping it induces it to behave properly. If available try another power adapter or take it to a repair facility to have it checked out.

The computer doesn't respond to the power button when pressed.
A portable Mac doesn't appear to respond properly when you close or open the lid.
The computer sleeps or shuts down unexpectedly.
The battery does not appear to be charging properly.
The MagSafe power adaptor LED doesn't appear to indicate the correct activity.
You don't need a Converter, if that converter is converting the ireland current to US type current.
All you need is a different male plug for the AC charger or a male to female plug that allows you to plug in the US 2 prong plug to whatever they use in Ireland. The Mac AC adapter will do the rest.
Irish and UK power points are the same
perhaps poster means the adapter
to change USA plug to UK type
