Q: what would be the best base station to connect wirelessly?

Ok so I just got my time capsule and it is awesome. the only thing is I have to run a cable from the router in my grandfather studie to the time capsule in order for it to connect and for my computer to wirelessly connect to it. I am trying to find a [roduct that will make this a bit more conveniant for myself.

I have been looking at the Airport Extreame & the Airport Express but I dont what one would do what I need it to..

First of I don't know if the Airport Express would require me to connect it to my time capsule in order to gain a connection or if it would do it wirlessly. I would have no problem with having to connect the two considering how close I could bring it to my time capsule, instead of having to run a 50 FT. cable to my grandfathers studie down the hall.

Also the Airport Extreame. I know that this is a whole router in itself so I figure that this would require it to be pluged in to the time capsule just as the one we already have setup at the house. Although I could stack the two devices and use them like tht and not have to use the huge bunch of cables I have tangled up in the middle of my floor.

so really I guess I'm just asking would eather allow me to connect my time capsule to the network wirelessly, or no? And even bigger of a deal is would eather of the base stations have to have a cable plugging them into the router here in the house to gain acsess to the internet/ my network?

Unless the router that the Time Capsule (TC) is currently connected to by Ethernet is another TC, AirPort Extreme, or Express, then you will not be able to extend its wireless range with wireless connection between them.

If it is another brand, then one option would be to get an 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn). Connect it directly to this other router by Ethernet and place it near this same router. Then configure the AXn & TC for an extended network. In this configuration, the connection between the AXn and TC would be wireless.
