black screen ipad

Try resetting it by holding down the home and sleep key, past the red power down slider until you see the silver apple. If this doesn't fix it you can try restoring, but I'd honestly make an appointment at your local apple store because something is wrong.

Same thing here... it's like it is working without me being able to see it. I can connect it to itunes, I even did a full restore. I tried the reset, but no red slider shows. I can hear it, but the visuals just aren't there.

I scheduled some help. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to them!

Me too! The screen stays black..but when i get a facebook notification, it makes a noise......I tried pressing the home and power button but the Apple logo didnt ever appear! ):

This may sound really annoying, but sometimes it just works after you get its the time. Mine came on after a few days so I say before you spend another 400 bucks for a new iPad unless you're under warranty or something, and just give it a few days that's what happened with me and it started working again.

If you're under warranty, however, take it back. Something is wrong and it's good ot have the pros diagnose it.

Its been 4 months! Thanks, but I guess ill just end up bringing it to the Apple store...-__-...

I got this problem too.

The screen is totally black. You can see it " black-dim " when you turn it Off & On.

You can ear the email tones when I receive an email.

So it's definitvly working ... just show's a balck screen.

So here's what I did (don't get your hope's up .. I'm still stuck).

1- I tried to put it on recovery mode. It does ... but I can't see the usuall iTunes and connector image, I still get a black screen.

2- Rebooted it from recovery, still black

3- Did a full Restore, still black

Now it's totally empty and still the same black screen.

Any ideas ?
