My idiot ex (a supervisor on the apple care line!) jaibroke my phone and I hate it. It won't even turn on, now, it's stuck in recovery mode. How do I fix this?
I'm trying to make it work through iTunes but I get error 1601.
He used something called Red Snow, if that helps.
I'm absolutely sick right now. I never once wanted this thing jailbroken, nevermind absolutely broken. Especially by an Apple employee.

Again, you might call AppleCare to let them know that their staff jailbroke your phone. He is not allowed to do that. Since their staff jailbroke it, they ought to help you unjailbreak it. But remember, you may get the same results with them as you do here. I just say it's worth a shot.

That's where you'd get the best advice.
It's basically because Apple doesn't want anything to do with a hacked device. Believe me, I want to help people un-hack their devices more than anyone, but Apple hosts these forums so we must abide by their rules.

Unfortunately, there's not really anything we can do to help you here. Discussions of jailbreaking, even in this context aren't really allowed. Try restoring your phone as new using iTunes. Beyond that, I suggest googling the issue.

Yep, jailbreaking will do that. Apple employees especially should not support jailbreaking or jailbreak devices. Report him to Apple. As Meg stated, we won't be able to help you here but Google should provide tons of solutions for restoring. Doing a restore should remove the jailbreak.

They aren't Meg's rules, they're the rules of the discussion board Terms and Conditions. If we COULD help, we would in this situation, but we can't sadly.
My recommendation is pretty much the same as Meg's; Google is your best friend here. Also search for Error 1601, you should get a pretty handy article that describes most- if not all- errors in iTunes.

I'm trying pretty much everything right now that's been said on Google. No luck. Who would have thought that trusting an Apple employee with your iPhone was a good idea, eh?
Believe me mate, I would love to. I'd love to tell a few stories! I don't think I'd like the confrontations afterwards, though. If I can't get this thing to work, though, I think it'll be my only other option. I'm still trying- all I want to do is sleep, but I'm still trying! Everything is worth a shot at this point. The ONLY thing anyone here can suggest is to try putting it in DFU mode and restoring. It's entirely possible that the phone is permanently borked.
Your best shot is what KiltedTim has already suggested.
Force your phone in to DFU mode and then restore.
Search Google for "Force an iPhone in to DFU mode" and follow the steps precisely.
