My new iPad no longer syncs Entourage

Has anyone been able to sync their new iPad to iCal? It will sync to my iPhone 4S and my iPad2 only.

Usually when this happens, you get something like 3000 sync conflicets and you replace the Calendar info in the iPad with that from iCal. It then syncs properly after that. Instead, every time I sync my new iPad with iCal (cable and not iCloud which of course isn't supported by MS), I get 3000 sync conflicts which should be repaired by copying my iCal info to my new iPad. But it doesn't do that.

Anyone figured out how to do this?

Thanks.

What I am seeing is that my iPhone 4S and and my iPad 2 sync to iCal.

What I am seeing is that my new iPad (this the new iPad and not the new iPad I just bought), does not. I always get 3000 sync conflicts. I know that if I sync them, I will then have 6000 Entourage entries in Entourage 2008. (Easy enough to delete because they have no catagories but they will always come back.)

Usually these conflicts are easily solved by copying the contents of my computer (iTunes 10.6 sync) to the Apple device. It resets the sync function. However with the new iPad (this the new iPad and not the new iPad I just bought) never syncs and these conflicts never go away. Therefore anything calendar event you enter on the new iPad (this the new iPad and not the new iPad I just bought) will sync back to the iCal and therefore never to Entourage.

This is the same behavour with Entourage 2008 syncing that I had when iOS 5 was rolled out. It has now returned with the new iPad (this the new iPad and not the new iPad I just bought). When MS rolled out Entourage 2008 (v12.3.2) the syncing problems with my iPhone 4S and iPad2 went away. Perhaps it is an MS issue? Dunno.

I guess the question is, how did you do?

Sorry if I was a bit vague but I was trying to make the point that it appears to be an iCal issue (all other syncing works with Entourage).

This sounds like the iPad is picking up the entries from both iCloud/iCal and iTunes/Ical/Entourage.

Make sure the iPad is doing only one of these. I would consider Restoring the iPad as a new device, to make sure you start clean.

My way of working is:

- I sync pure iCal/Address Book items via iCloud. I have no active calendars or contact groups "on my Mac"

- I have iTunes set to sync only the Entourage/Outlook calendars from iCal (they are the only "on my Mac" items.

And it seems to work

My new iPad no longer syncs Entourage
