Audiobooks won't sync to iPhone

I have several audiobooks and for some reason, none of them will sync to my iPhone. When I look for them in the "audiobooks" section of my iPhone, nothing is there. I have "selected audiobooks" checked in iTunes just like allways. I've tried syncing while directly plugged into my Macbook and wirelessly to no avail. Help! 😕

You're a life saver. Ive been trying all monring to sync an audiobook to my iphone 4s but coz I had the "sync only checked songs and video" box on the summary page ticked it wouldnt work. I unticked that and its worked.

After much unneeded stress and frustration, I finally found the trick to "authorize" my audiobooks so they could sync with my new iphone 5S...(S must stand for Sh*tty, time-sucking piece of crap!). Yes, I am frustrated. Apple products will soon lose my business and hopefully others, they need a wake-up call, these things SHOULD NOT take a person hours and hours to sync!

BY the Way, guess who fixed my problem, AUDIBLE!!!! GO AUDIBLE. A simple chat with an Audible Rep took care of what Apple support couldn't. This is the 2nd prob. I have had with Apple Support, different issue, within a month, and I am relatively agile with apple/mac.

So, HERE IS THE EVER SO COMPLICATED FIX--KIDDING--it's cake, as recommended by AUDIBLE, NOT Apple.

Make sure device you are wanting to sync is NOT connected to ITUNES, completely unplug.

Go to your library and click on audiobooks and allow to play each title you are having probs w/ for a few seconds each.

REconnect device you want to sync and do per usual; sync all automatically or checked items, however you usually do.

I hope this gets to, and helps anyone frustrated. Take care. Also, please take a minute to b*tch to apple if you are frustrated, please!!! Write a quick email or post, something.

I had this problem, and I spent a good several hours working on it. Diagnostic steps to take if you cannot sync audiobooks:

1) The new iTunes has separate check marks for syncing Books and Audiobooks. Be sure that on the "Books" tab, you scroll down and have checked to sync Audiobooks.

2) This one is more subtle, and it was my problem. I had checked "Selected Audiobooks" on the "Books" tab of iTunes, but still nothing was syncing. I realized that, on the Summary screen in iTunes associated with my iPhone, I had also checked "Sync only checked songs and videos". This setting apparently applies to books and audiobooks as well. I looked and found that the audiobooks that weren't syncing were also not checked in the Books tab of iTunes (not the Books tab of your iPhone/iPod. When I checked the audiobooks, that solved the problem. Of course, I now need to change almost every playlist in iTunes so that they don't pick up stray audiobooks...

3) If your audiobooks are from Audible, make sure that your computer and i-device are properly authorized.

Sorry but this no longe works. Apple has gone back to not syncing any audio books to iphone apparently. All my audio books are checked, and regardless of whether or not "Sync only checked..." is checked or unchecked audiobooks do NOT sync.

Which makes sense, why would anyone want to listen to an audiobook on a portable audio playback device, right? Thanks apple, yet another failure in a long and ever growing list of things that just don't work any more.

I had this issue too - you need to register it on the machine where you run iTunes; to fix it you need to play the audiobook from you iTunes library on you imac or windows machine. You will be prompted to logon to your audible.com account, once you're signed on, you can play it in iTunes. When you can play it in iTunes you can sync it anytime to your iphone or itouch.
