Are you sure the Windows Migration Assistant downloaded and was installed properly? Do you get the initial window, per OS X Lion: About Windows Migration Assistant?
Try connecting them directly, not through your Time Capsule, via an Ethernet cable (much faster and more reliable than WIFI).

Hello, did anyone resolve this? Same problem:
Migrating from PC to Mac with Migration Assistant
- Mac recognized PC and displays passcode
- Passcode does not show / display on PC
- Mac stuck in "authenticating" loop
- PC stuck "waiting for Mac to connect."
- both are connected on same network (have connected PC on WIFI and using ethernet to Reuter
The response above re Windows Migration Assistant is not particularly helpful as you download and install a new version when you buy mac
Any ideas? If cant get this to work is there anyway to manually bring across data eg itunes?

On a positive note, when I recently brought a new imac the apple software worked flawlessly when taking files from my macbook pro, I used a timemachine backup to set up new imac with 200GB of files, what a surprise apple talks to apple but does not talk to pc
