movies not in iTunes match
Why are movies I have downlaoded via itunes (digital copies) not in itunes match.
Why are movies I have downlaoded via itunes (digital copies) not in itunes match.
Because iTunes match is for music only. It's always been that way:
So far, iTunes Match applies only to digital copy movies from certain studios. I don't know all of the studios that do participate at this point, but Fox and Universal do not. They have both said that they will soon, though. Also, this is only available in the USA as of now.
agustasj - that's different from iTunes match. They are now allowing users to re-download purchased videos/movies, but those are available from the store, not the icloud.
Technically that is iCloud too. Just not iTunes Match 🙂
I just noticed some of my Digital Copy movies aren't showing up, either. For example, I have Inception in my iTunes library from Digital Copy. It's on my iPad, synced via iTunes, but it doesn't show up under Purchased on my Apple TV or iPhone.
iTunes Match is for music only (and some music videos purchased from the iTunes Store). You are thinking of iTunes in the Cloud, which is part of Apple's "cloud strategy" and allows re-downloading of iTunes Store purchased content, but is different from iTunes Match.
The reason some of your movies don't show up in your purchase history is because the copyright owners are not allowing it.
OK, yes, iTunes in the cloud. But, I thought the only digital copy movies that weren't included were ones from Fox and Universal. Inception is by Warner Bros.
Just because Warner Bros is signed on to iTunes in the Cloud doesn't mean they allow all of their movies to be re-downloaded through the service.
