Hey, last month I installed iMessage on my macbook. It all worked fine until today. All of a sudden, I can't send any messages anymore. If I try to, it says "Your message could not be sent. try again, or cancel.
What can I do to fix this?

Thanks!

    Hi,

Can you say if this is an iMessage (to Phone or iPad) or to a iChat type Buddy  ?

Having similar issues here Rob.  I have two Macs that I've used Messages on and up until about a week ago it was working, then I seemed like I had some type of hicup one day.  I had mesages on my iPhone that came back unsent for and afternoon, then after that I noticed that messages on my Macs were no longer working.  I tried again on both machines this moring and continue to get the "Your message could not be sent" notification. I realize this is beta so I'm not upset, but I do miss being able to message from my mac. I wonder if Apple didn't make some changes that have created issues.

    Hi,

Add either 8.8.4.4. or 8.8.8.8 (Public DNS servers) to System Preferences > Network > Advanced Button > DNS tab.

    Ralph,

I added the public dns servers as suggested but this did not resolve.  I have same issue - after weeks of using the imessage beta (many, many times per day), it stopped working this morning.  This began concurrently with the beta not working.  Additionally, when I send messages from my iphone they also say not sent, but in fact are sent.  So to be clear both the MPB and Iphone both say that messages are not sent, but the ones sent from my iphone are sent just fine, while messages sent from MBP are in fact not sent.  I am considering the uninstall/reinstall cycle.  Any advice would be apporeiated.

    HI,

I would start with the Uninstall/reinstall method you suggest.

    Ralph,

I did the unistall/install cycle and it is working again.  If it goes south again I will post that here, for general awareness.

    Thanks,

    Mike
