iTunes on iPad hides apps

Having a frustrating time w iTunes on a ipad2 64gb where I accidentially swipe on app and iTunes greys out the app. I find no way of reversing this process through iTunes on the iPad!

To hide your purchases

  1. Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store application on your device.
  2. Tap Purchased from from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Locate and swipe left or right on the item would like to hide; this displays the Hide button.
  4. Tap the Hide button.

To unhide your purchases

  1. Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
  3. If you're not already signed in, tap SIgn In.
  4. Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
  5. Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.
  6. Locate the item you would like to unhide then tap the Unhide button.

Note: If the item you are unhiding is not already downloaded or installed on your device, it will begin downloading automatically.

When this thread was started, over 3.5 years ago, hiding directly on a device worked. You now have to use your computer's iTunes to hide apps from the cloud : Hide and unhide purchases in iTunes or iBooks on your Mac or PC - Apple Support (the 'x' might not show on the app's top left corner when you hover your mouse pointer over the app, but clicking there should still hide it)
