Please help me with my new apple tv 2 audio skipping constantly

Hey I set up my new apple tv 2 today i work in a retail store selling all this stuff but I can't figure this out. Apple tv hdmi connects to my Yamaha amp B&W speakers and Sony Bravia tv. It mirrors fine ( but isn't full screen on tv) and iPad and iPhone work with it picture is amazing resolution but every bit of audio whether it's iTunes you tube Internet or watching trailers in apple tv lags constantly with audio picture stays fine but audio is killing me. Anyone help?

I had a new HD apple tv that the audio kept cutting out for an instant.it was replaced with a second one with the same problem. Apple finally diagnosed the problem.

I replaced a second gen apple tv with the HD version without changing out the power cord , I simply used the existing power cord and hdmi cable.Apparently that was enough to cause the audio problem . Since I used the new power cord with the new HD Apple TV , I have perfect audio.
