How long does it take - time sensetive books!

Hi

I uploaded an ibook on 29th February for Lent. It still says "Book In Review. This book is currently being reviewed for quality assurance."

I've tried messaging Apple, but met with standard responses about them being busy.

Two weeks ago I uploaded a book for Easter and am fastly losing hope of it being publishing before Easter (8th April).

Is there ANYTHING I can do to speed up this proccess?

thanks

Short answer is no. It's a dreadful process I won't put myself through again, which is sad because iBooks Author is a great piece of software but without transparent, honest and quick delivery to the iBookstore it's useless to any of us wanting and needing to promote and sell our books. Mine has been in the same status as yours for THREE WEEKS and yet the FAQ says '10 days', go figure.

Apple says NOTHING. There is no apology, no explanation, not even replies to emails in my experience. I've emailed Apple at least three times without any responses at all. It's shocking.

Apple needs to do better in comparison to its competitors in the ebook market space. Right now it's doing all it can to drive authors and publishers away from the iBooks format and iBooks Author. I certainly won't bother again with Apple until such time as the company announces it is sorry for what it is putting so many of us through, and makes clear that it has changed its overly complicated, cumbersome and bureaucratic processes.

I am not just disappointed. I am appalled.

I am waiting since the last 10 weeks plus. When I contact them, I get a standard answer:

"Thank you for contacting iBookstore Publisher Support.

Please note we are currently reviewing your inquiry and will get back to you as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience."

My excitement for this nice service is already gone. This is very disappointing to see this kind of poor service from Apple. They should use portion of their 100B to invest in enough resources before rolling out a new service. Probably, they didn't anticipate the demand for it.

It's the lack of reaching out to authors and publishers that really gets me, far more than the outrageous delay. It's the failure to communicate, to treat content providers respectfully and to just get a grip on the situation. Apple is quite happy to send out stock emails telling us what we already know - that they're overwhelmed - but that's not in reply to every email, many getting no replies at all, and the company seems to be incapable of offering apologies.

And yes, to an earlier poster, you'd think with its pot of money Apple could get more staff into the iBooks department to get the queue down and respond properly to us with overdue humility.
