I asked the Hosts to give you your own thread because your posted report shows your issues were not "the exact same" as the OP in the other thread.

First, get Symantec off your computer. It has likely crippled or disabled more Macs than it's saved. It is not easy to get rid of this drek. See this article for starters:

http://www.macworld.com/article/1150466/uninstall_norton.html

It's hard to diagnose anything with that interference.

For now, turn off the Western Digital drive manager stuff. I found it eats a lot of resources. You're better off using Time Machine. On one or our computers , the mere presence of WD backup software--even when not launched--increase the processor temps by 10-15F due to its background processes. There is an uninstaller in the WD folder.

Turn off any Safari extensions and try running that way. Unsupported third-party extensions are a big cause of Safari instability, and some can cause unwanted pop-ups and other messages.

This has been identified as malware associated with a fake Codec-M installation, so you might want to see if you can find out where it came from and what process it controls.

Highlight the file and use Quicklook to examine it or use TextEdit and post the results if you have trouble identifying it.
