Can't find serial number - Aperture 3

Hello,

I reset my mac back to factory settings and now wish to reinstall my Aperture 3 .. But I cannot find the serial number anywhere.

I think I may have registered it on the site when I bought it, but I see from looking on the forum that you can't apparantely access this information anymore, so I stopped looking.

The instruction booklets in the box don't have any serial numbers printed on the backs, which would be an easy place to put them, so now I have this software and can't use it anymore?

Can anyone advise how I can get into this application?

Hello Matthew,

The serial number is usually on the box containing the installation DVD.

It's too late for the advice, but next time you reset your Mac write down the serial number - you see it in the "About panel" when you go to the Aperture menu -> About Aperture.

The serial number was on the back of the Installing your Software booklet not the instruction book in the boxed set.

If you don't have that anymore you will have to go to the link that Léonie supplied. Apple is pretty good at getting your serial number.

That's where I found my serial number just now - at the back of the white box (inside the cover) containing the installation media 😉

that seems to vary between countries.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies.

I checked everywhere inside the box but there is no info there - a few booklets, that's all - so I think the original SN must have been on a separate bit of paper somewhere and I have just lost the thing. I bought it in Geneva, Switzerland so I guess it must differ between countries. I should have been more careful !

I will use the link that Leonie supplied - thanks very much - and try to find the original purchase date somehow, or perhaps go into the Apple store and see what they can do for me - I've got all the original packaging etc so I'm obviously not trying to get a hacked copy, perhaps they can help me in the store once they see I am a bona fide customer 🙂
