Not reliably.

Many users, including me, have experienced problems when daisy chaining iSight.

If you need an external cam while you are using your MBP's FW port for other item(s), I think a better choice would be a compatible UVC cam like one of those described here: http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/

The UVC approach lets you to use your FW800 as needed while you connect a reliable external cam to the USB ports without any potential Firewire conflict.
