password reset macbook air

Good evening

I've searched all the comunity and found no solution for me.

I've lost the admin password for my macbook air.

Reseting password, as far I could find, requires the instalation cd. However, macbook air comes with no cd and no cd player.

I need to install a printer and can't for lack of administration privileges.

I've bought at the apple store osx lion (hoping would solve the problem) to no avail.

A friend told me only apple personel could reset the password.

Is that true or there is a workaround all that security?

I'm a windows user becoming very frustrated with a mac...

thanks for all your help

Boot to the Recovery HD:

Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu. Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow instructions in the dialog window that will appear.

Also, see OS X Lion- Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password
