When you download in HD from the cloud, you're actually downloading a 720p version instead of 1080p. The iPhone 4S won't play 1080p movies and tv shows for some reasons, even though it clearly says that the 4s can playback 1080p in the specs on their website. False advertising right there.

Now this is just crazy. As of this morning itunes is now refusing to play the 1080p video on my desktop pc as well, and offering to download the smaller version.

Till today it has always played just fine, my desktop res is 1920x1200.

Really apple need to get this fixed mega quick. With this going on and the total lack of HD content on the uk store, no game of thrones,no boardwalk empire for instance.

Most movies you can only rent the HD version not buy it or an HD version isn't available at all.

I would give apple a lot of rope but i can't even give them money when i want to. Off to amazon to buy game of thrones on blu-ray.
